My journey in Social Media Marketing: A Journey of a Thousand Miles

An ancient philosopher name Lao Tzu said: "The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step." This is my thought when I started studying social media marketing. I feel like I'm  new traveller-going in the place that I am not familiar with. When I took my first step in learning social media marketing, what I thought is that for me to succeed in this journey, I must be artistic and creative in terms of creating content and have skills such as photography, videography and editing which are my weaknesses. In my first week of my study in Social Media Marketing Content Course, I was surprise because what I believe is not true. Most of the time the big idea is came from nothing. everything can be learn. 

Allow me to take you in a journey that will leads you to understand marketing content. What is marketing content? A content marketing focuses on two aspect which is the production of content and promotion which usually being done in as marketing. Content marketing is a technique on how you design, create and distributes valuable content that was made consistently intended for an audience.

1.    Why is it important to develop a digital marketing strategy first, before developing your content marketing approach? 

Strategy is like a game without it you might be lost in the market. Having strategy will allows you to be smart as a content marketer. In developing content marketing approach, you must consider every aspect such as your budget, your target audience, your goals and consider some marketing guidelines and policies required by laws and even the right timing of posting your content. All of this should be part of your strategies and these strategies is your detailed action to be taken aligns you’re your objectives, considering all your resources and competitions.

2.    What are some content marketing best practices?

It is important to strategies and plan your marketing content marketing. You must ask yourself: Is your strategies and content are aligning in your objectives? Is your created content is based on your research? Are you using a calendar plan in strategizing your content? These things will help you to achieve a growth of success and improvement in your business, save time, money and effort.

Research your content and perform a keyword search. This will help you to find out the niche and most popular with your form of content. Mostly audience are willing to share what they learn, having niches subject leads traffics.

Having an evergreen content. It is a content that is continually relevant and fresh from your reader. It can stay longer.

Creating audience persona. Having audience persona will help you to personalise your content. Considering the demographic and psycho-graphic characteristics of your selected persona will help your content to catches attentions and traffic leads.

Use Analytics. Analytics will help you to understand the trends in the market it will help you also to see the effective rates of your posted content. You can use analytics to optimise your content.
